DataMerge

Calls that Ingress on one switch and Egress on a different switch within a single network, will result in two CDRs. It is not always possible for the outgoing leg of the call to know which incoming route was used or for the incoming leg of the call to know which outgoing route is used. As a result, this makes customer margin and the total cost of a call very difficult to calculate.

To overcome this, when a call goes over more than one switch, DataMerge puts all the CDRs from both switches into a database. It then matches the CDRs from one switch with the CDRs of the other, placing CDRs into suspense for reprocessing if they fall outside the matching rules. Once two CDRs are matched, they are combined into a single CDR containing all the required ingress and egress information. This is then output in the required format for billing and reporting. Multiple input/output formats are supported to allow existing data feeds to be supported in a single instance of DataMerge.
